Job is a book of conversations and discourses.

God and Satan lead the way with two opening conversations in heaven! Then Job responds verbally to his affliction. Job’s wife delivers a drive-by smattering of non-help. His four friends speak 9 times. Job answers his four friends 8 times. God responds powerfully to Job over the course of chapters 38-41. Job responds in repentance to God in chapter 42. God rebukes three of Job’s friends and then restores Job after his questioning, suspicious accusations toward God.

This definitely is a book about how God’s people verbally state their formed opinions about God when He brings affliction to His own! So, the value in the book is learning how God’s people respond to His dealings with them.
